Good morning,

After performing a data check for Adagio Ledger, I'm seeing an error that cannot be rebuilt. What does it mean when the current balance does not match net change record?

Sincerely,
Terrence

It means your data is corrupt. You can try clicking on Rebuild (make a backup when it asks you), and it will try to fix the error, but my experience is that this error is not fixable in most cases.

An option is to restore from a backup, if you have a recent one.

Another option is to work with your Adagio consultant to repair the data using their copy of GridView ReadWrite. If they are not sure how to do this, have them email me at steve@sschwartzcpa.com

Another option is to find a not-so-recent backup and merge the batches from the corrupted data onto the restored backup. This is a little trickier and if your consultant is not sure about this, have them ask me.

The last resort, because it costs the most money, is to send your data to Softrak to be repaired.

Steve

That's not the only error.

The Total Debits do not equal the Total Credits in the posted transaction file. This is usually caused by a hardware failure or crash during posting.

Adagio Ledger 9.3A has options to automatically back up the files prior to posting. If you have a very recent backup, then restoring from that point may be the easiest way to proceed.

You should probably determine the best course of action in consultation with your Adagio Consultant.

I see, that's unfortunate news but atleast it gets me on the right track. Thank you both for your insight, I will follow up with our Adagio consultant on this matter.

Sincerely,
Terrence
