Time & Billings 9.2A (171024) error messages when trying to post invoices

- unable to open data file billing text @B92ABLT, (1213)
- unable to open data file billing tax @B92ABLX, (1213)
- unable to open data file billing subline temporary @B92ABLS, (1213)

Not able to get out of error messages, so used task manager, I then get these messages,
- access violation at address 0040944E in module TimeBilling.exe. Read of address 00000192
- Internal error: (2103) application handle invalid

Time & Billings shuts down and when I reopen the batch is gone.

Data integrity check does not show any errors in time & billings or in receivables.

Hi Mariann,

The error 1213 in any Adagio procedure means 'Invalid path opening data file'. Sometimes this means that the file(s) in question were (temporarily) locked and unavailable to access. Since the errors you indicated are labelled 'unable to open data file', that seems like a possible scenario. The files indicated were the billing batch files.

Doing an End Task on Adagio can often give error messages, as the program is being closed 'ungracefully'.

Since there are no reported data integrity errors, you now need to determine if the WIP time and disbursements selected to invoice had their status changed to 'billed' or not. If not, the likely next step is to re-enter the invoices in a new billing batch. If so, you may need to restore your Time&Billing (and possibly AR) data from a backup.

The reason for the error in the first place is likely difficult to determine over a support forum. It might have been a one-time thing due to a slow connect to the server, or various other possibilities. The next time you want to post a billing batch, make sure you have a backup of the data, and if the problem re-occurs, you have a very recent backup to restore, and something to show your Adagio consultant.

All of this would best be discussed with your Adagio consultant, as they can see specifically what you are doing and the environment in which you are doing this in.
