Hello,

Is there a function that gets the current user id or user name that is available to use for custom report?

Same question for GridView?

Can you be more specific? There are frequently many users in Adagio at the same time.

If what you want is the user list, not necessarily who is in Adagio at the current moment, that's a different question.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Marlon:

I'll tackle the Crystal question and say "No". Adagio's standard reports (the ones that come with the software such as aged trial balances) do display the user's name in the footer of the report. However when I look at how that is done, it is passed from the Adagio module (which does know the current user) to the report as a parameter each time the report is run.

Hi Marlon,

The Adagio standard reports print the current user in the report footer. See if editing one of those reports shows you how it's done there.

As far as I can tell, there is no function or parameter in GridView that will return the UserID or Name for a View or in the Header/Footer section. You could place these parameters in a "Named Items" file and load that for the Workspace.

But, like Steve, I'm wondering what you are trying to accomplish before I submit a change request to R&D.

Hello Andrew,

I did check the Adagio Standard Report, but it seems like the username is being populated within the adagio coding and pass to a variable to populate on the report.

I'm asking because there is a custom report that list the routes for the day. And every time it is printed, it is different person at different time of day. I want to be able to print the timestamp and username of who printed the routes for accountability purposes. Timestamp is not a problem because there is a function available but not for username or user id.

The work around I have in place is I use a parameter that ask for the username and use that to populate it on the report. Which is one more thing for the user to enter.

Hi Marlon,

I have asked for this to be added to GridView.
