Is it possible to make a single item tax exempt?

Yes, but how you do it depends on what modules you are using. Please tell us, including version numbers.

Steve/Erin:

It also depends very much on how you have your tax groups and tax statues setup.

We're due for some upgrades, but here's what we're currently running:
IC: 8.1D (120512)
OE: 8.1E (120907)

I believe these are the only ones needed to figure this out? Ideally this info would also flow to our POS system, but I haven't been able to test, as it's not setup within Inventory properly yet.

Not sure about what you'd need to know for the tax groups - here is a screen shot of the Item Rates portion:

Sales taxes should really be set up or modified with the advice of your Adagio Reseller. There are many factors that contribute to how taxes are calculated, including the tax statuses of the customer and item - not just the tax groups and jurisdictions.

If you are going to attempt this on your own, then you should carefully review all the discussion of sales taxes in the Adagio Receivables, Inventory and OrderEntry manuals, and, on a copy of your database make individual adjustments and process sales that will test the changes you are thinking of making. The tax calculations should be audited all the way through to the general ledger and tax tracking reports (if you use them).

Hi All,
We have called and connected with Erin.

Issue is resolved. Their POS that is using Link2POS and RMS POS, handles the tax changes feeding directly from Adagio OE, AR, and IC.

This tax code setup of her screen shot is an inherited setup from long time ago Plus days, and it is not how we would ever setup Tax tables in Adagio. So anyone, wondering how and why it is configured like that, please do not attempt to copy or replicate.

Thanks,
Brian
