hi,

We are having the following problem with Receivables.

After printing a statement when you click on CLOSE, a window pops up stating, “Access Violation at address 009EEBAC in Module ‘Receivables.exe’. Read address 00000066” and you have to click OK to continue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan

What version of Receivables? Include the revision date (eg 160226).

Well, definitely install the latest service pack, which is dated 160226. I think this will fix the problem.

You can download service packs from Softrak's website - http://softrak.com/downloads/servicepacks/servicepacks.php . There is a password, but I don't think putting passwords on a public forum is a good idea, so email your consultant (or me if you don't have one) and they will tell it to you. Or find the email that Softrak sent you around late February announcing the service pack; it will contain the password.

That is kind of stupid. Why would it start doing this all of a sudden. Does Adagio set up the programs to produce errors this time of year so we have to upgrade? There has to be a fix without upgrading.

A service pack is not an upgrade, mostly a service pack consists of bug fixes. Service packs should always be installed right away.

Software developers don't write perfect software and even if they did, problems arise in the future due to circumstances beyond the developer's control.

Also, service packs don't produce any revenue to Softrak, and I'm sure they would be very happy if they never have to issue one. So of course they wouldn't pre-program their software to have bugs.

Adagio Receivables 9.2A (160226) is a Service Pack to Adagio Receivables 9.2A (150410), it is not an Upgrade. An Upgrade would change the version number (9.2A), not just the release date.

Service Packs fix identified issues in a module. They are all accompanied by a Release Note which describes to problems that have been fixed.

Programs start behaving differently because something has changed in your data or procedures or software environment.
