Question

Should the inquiry for a MTD sales figure from Sales Analysis (if configured properly) be the same as the income "MTD" in the P&L? If not, can someone let me know why the dollar amounts would be different?

Off the top of my head, the dollar amounts may be different because

• The general ledger is fiscal period based, and SalesAnalysis is using the calendar month.
• SalesAnalysis is including taxes and/or miscellaneous charges in the amounts it is reporting.
• Someone has edited and changed the amounts in the SA database.
• Someone has purged transactions in the SA database.
• There are still transactions waiting to be retrieved into Ledger or SalesAnalysis.

Thank you Andrew. I exported data from both to analyze and compare. I had our business advisor in the office and it was frustrating not being able to give him what should have been a simple answer. What made it worse was I couldn't answer "why".
