Hi I am a development partner and I am trying to get a query to work against the sample data.

I want to query 3 tables.

G/L Account Master
G/L Account Net Changes
G/L Posted Transactions

I believe G/L Posted Transactions is GLPST. I was able to setup an ODBC connection that pointed to the SAMDATA but when I do a select * from GLPST I get....

[Softrak Systems][Adagio](18) The file set 'GLPST' does not exist.

Any help would be much appreciated...

Dynac.

You need to use the DataDictExporter that is in the ..\Softrak\System folder pointed at the sample data and export the "table and field names" to Excel

...\Softrak\system\DataDictionaryExporter.exe /ODBC /A /H

The ADS Alias tag is what ODBC uses to access the data not the Windows "File Name". For the General Ledger all Alias's begin with AL90D.

Select * from AL90DPST_PST should work for your query, the extra _PST is required because the same table definition is used for multiple files.

You should also edit the DSN Table Selection to choose

AL90DMST |AL90DBUK | AL90DPST | AP90DGLO

you will be shown only the tables of interest

I always suggest using Excel or MSQuery to make some initial probes into the data

Thanks Michael,

I have exported the Data Dictionary table but I am still a little confused on how to setup the DSN or how to query the G/L Account Master (@L90DMST = ADS Alias). I am using the latest Adagio.

The steps I took are:

Only option specified was the DataSource. There are no options behind the test successful popup.

Was successful in connecting to the data source but failed to query a table.
