I am having problems with some GL archived batches. When I copy and restore the entries are in order of the account number. I want them to appear as I enter them....the revenue and then expense following. Have I clicked something on or off by mistake? Also, when restoring from archive...is it possible to "insert" entries rather than putting all new entries at the bottom of the batch?

There are no options for sorting batch entries or details when copying or restoring batches. I cannot replicate the behaviour you indicated - my single restored batch has all entry details in precisely the order I entered them, whether I created a new batch or appended to an existing batch.

And if you are copying a batch to an existing batch, they must always go at the end, rather than insert somewhere in the middle or at the top.

Thanks.....I will have to pay attention to when things are changing. Some of my batches stay in the same order and then some seem to change to numerical order of the account number. I appreciate your comments.

You can "insert" and entry into the middle of a batch by moving the transactions from one batch to a new batch up to the point you want to insert you transaction, adding the one you want, and then moving the remainder of the transactions in the original batch after the one you just added.

It's not very elegant, I know, but it does accomplish what you are looking for.

Thanks Andrew. I never thought of that. I'll see how it works out.
