I have an item in inventory that shows nothing when I press Load in the transaction history window (All selected) but shows PO's, receipts, and invoices in the purchase order window, and a sale in the sales history window. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

Inventory 8.1D (120126); Purchase Orders 8.1C (130722); Order Entry 8.1F (130708)

Hi Mike:
What about the other To/From range options in the Load Transaction history window, especially the date range; are they set correctly? Are other items loading transactions correctly? What does the "Transaction History" report (located under "Transaction reports" on the "Reports" menu) show for this item?

Hi Bruce

The problem is nothing shows. A message pops up after load is pressed but only appears for a fraction of a second so I don't know what it says. I've tried using the default ranges as well as setting ranges that I know there is activity in. Nothing displays. Other items are loading correctly, although I've been told that it has happen in one or two other items (she can't remember which ones though). The transaction history report also says there is nothing to report.

After trying some other items to make sure they worked (they did), I went back and double checked the ranges just to be sure. Of course, it worked fine this time. A little more checking and this is what the problem is:
I have some item numbers that end in a '?' i.e. R-GCS10?. When Receipts and/or Shipments are checked, load works fine and displays the transactions. If Adjustments is checked as well, nothing works. Checking and unchecking any combination of transaction types doesn't work. I have to exit the item and then go back in. But I can only run Receipts and Shipments; none of the other transaction types will work if there is a question mark at the end of the item number.

I guess the only way to check adjustments with these items is to run a gridview report (I hope).

Thanks

Mike,

Can you do the same search using OrderEntry rather than IC.

There was an issue fixed in the recent OrderEntry release:
¨ The results of the inquiry on the Item tab in the View History function were incorrect in some cases when ranges other the full range of customers or items were used.

Hi Chris

Are you referring to the Items tab in Display History? That works but only for sales. What I'm trying to look at is the adjustments for an item. I can do it with gridview (where do I find the transaction type description i.e. "Adj. Both - "?) but it's more convenient in Inventory.

Hi Mike,

In GridView, the Trx Source field in Inventory Transaction History determines the type of transaction (Adjustment, Receipt, etc), and a value of 3 is for Adjustments. You can 'translate' the view to see the transaction type text rather than digits.

The 'Trx Type' field varies depending on whether you are looking at Receipts, Shipments, Adjustments, and so on. For Adjustments, the value can be from 1-6, based on the 6 different combinations of increase/decrease and qty/cost/both.

Thanks for finding that your item format containing a ? was the culprit. In the Windows world, a ? means a wildcard, so I wonder if something buried deep is thinking this - finders in Adagio do not support wildcards.

Then my next question is why does it work with the Receipts and Shipments transaction types but not the others (Adjustments, Stock transfers, and Assemblies)?

Thanks
