I started receiving this message on one of my workstations.
The full message reads as follows:
APWIN.EXE - No Disk
"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\device\harddisk2\DR2".

Anyone come across this?

Hello:
That's a Windows error message, rather than an Adagio message. Google has hundreds of matches. They all point to some sort of hardware issue but the circumstances are so varied that there isn't any particular guidance for you.

  • What has changed on that computer?
  • When you look at the properties of the Payables icon, what drive letter is used to start APWIN.exe?
  • Can you use Windows to browse that drive letter?
  • What happens if you start a different Adagio module from that computer?
  • At which point in the operation of Payables does the message occur?
  • Does Payables work properly when started from another computer?
  • What version of Payables?

The only recent change is the AP upgrade.
Properties on Payables is S:/Softrak/APWIN/APWIN.exe (this is the same on another workstation).
(S:/is a mapped network drive and exists on all workstations as such)
I can use windows to browse to that directory (with no error).
No errors of any kind occur on other modules (A/R and G/L).
The error message on AP occurs just after the program accepts the date and user pw.
Payables works properly on other workstations.
Version of Payables is 8.1E (130131).

I uninstalled the payables module then reinstalled from S:/SOFTRAK/ALLWKST/allwkst.exe, but I still get the error.
Thanks.

Hello:
Thank you for your thorough answer. There doesn't seem anything amiss based on your response.

  • What if you try to open Adagio sample data rather than your live data?
  • Did you just install Payables 8.1E? Has the new version ever worked properly on that computer?
