We have been using the PO module for a while now, then today when I put in the GL number and Dept. number it is adding two periods at the end of the dept. number, which then gives me an error message stating that the number is invalid.... why is it doing this all of a sudden? and how do I make it stop? in the mean time I am trying to keep track of my PO's manually on a piece of paper but this is obviously not the best solution to the problem.
please help!!

Hi Christine,

You have installed Adagio Ledger 9.1A, which has an optional feature for auto-filling either the account number or the department number with some character, for the purposes of easier locating codes fro the finder. I suspect that in your case, Adagio Ledger was configured with a period to trail the department number, and it was defined where the department code length is 2 characters longer than you actually use.

The solution is to open Ledger and the company profile, and either ensure that the department code length for auto-fill is set to the actual number of digits you use for departments, or disable the auto-fill feature for departments entirely.

I have reviewed my settings and the auto fill feature is turned off....:( any other suggestions?

Hello Christine,

I cannot get this to fail. Could you post pictures of the form where you are having the problem, and your Ledger company profile options?

If you don't know how to post pictures to the Forum, then you can e-mail them to me using the "Insert screen shot" choice in Outlook. (Your email will have to be formatted as HTML or Rich Text and have a subject before this option is enabled.)
