A number of items have prices, costs and history data 10,000 times what they should be. eg. base price should be 39.95, but is 399,500.00. Most recent cost and history data all affected the same way. Integrity check didn't show anything obvious. This just seemed to arise out of the blue on random items.
Thanks,
Ed

Hello Ed,

You are an Upgrade behind, and we have seen this happen in the past, but not recently.

Hi Andrew,

Is there a way to fix this, or is a data restore the only way.

A data repair is always possible, and you can probably fix this with GridView ReadWrite.

It would be useful to see what these items had in common.

Thanks. I'll do some more digging and will check out the Gridview option.

Ed:

As you do not have access to GridView Read Write you could use GridView to generate a file of the errors for import as adjustments. If there are few then I would recommend manually posting the adjustment.

Ok. So I fixed this by exporting and reimporting the corrected values on the three affected items, then doing an adjustment against the control account to wash the dr and cr to bring the total valuation down. For the record, two items were 100x and one was 10,000x the correct amounts in cost, history, and the calculated fields. Thankfully it was only three items, and thankfully, Adagio has the flexibility to fix this without having to do a full data restore.
Thanks for your input. Greatly appreciated.

Ed, in looking for the cause of this, check your Windows Regional Settings, number formats. Here in Quebec, where everything is done differently, numbers are formatted like this - 123 456,78$ instead of the North American conventional way of $123,456.78. In Quebec, the space replaces the comma as the thousands seperator. The comma replaces the period as the cents seperator and the dollar sign is trailing. Whenever someone here in Quebec configures their number format like that in their Regional Settings Adagio multiplies numbers by hundreds, thousands or other wild things, but always in even hundreds, thousands or millions, i.e. with lots of zeros.

After some GV r/w work and restoring number format to Canadian or US conventions, Adagio returns to normal behaviour.

Brian/Ed:

Unfortunately Ed's problem randomly occurs in older versions of Adagio. Best option is upgrading to the current versions, it's been a couple of years since I last saw an occurance.
