We are trying to export a list of parts for all 5 of our plants for the inventory count happening this week. It worked great for the first plant, but we keep getting an error for the other four. The error message reads "Unable to create file E:\2Adagio tests\2011_2.9 YEAR END WORKING FILE\ICEILOC.CSV. Export cancelled. It does generate an excel file like it is supposed to, but we need it to also export ICEILOC.CSV. How do we fix this?
Thank you.

I'd recommend a simpler export path. Remove the blank spaces from the path, ensure that E drive exists and that you have the rights to write to that location.

Are you exporting the list from the File / Export menu or from within the Print Physical Inventory Worksheet function? I would recommend doing it from the Print Physical Inventory process, because the file name (CSV or Excel) will get appended with the Location code (so you get 5 separate files) and you have more control over the items selected for exporting (can suppress inactive items or items not allowed at the location).

Maybe there is a problem with over-writing the existing CSV file. And I echo Bob's comments about the simpler path.

If the export template is defined to create a CSV file, it should not also simultaneously create an Excel file - and vice versa.

I am exporting the list from within the "Print Physical Inventory Worksheet" function for the exact reasons you mentioned.

I also thought it could be a problem with overwriting the CSV file so backed up the file, deleted it, and tried the export again. It still gave me the same error message. I then threw the file back into the folder and opened it up and deleted the contents and tried the export again. Same thing.

I am not sure how to change the filepath the CSV goes to. I can change the destination of the Excel file that is created when I "print", but not the ICEILOC.CSV file which is the one I need.

I tried printing to the screen and printing to the printer, both of which printed successfully, but the error message for ICEILOC.CSV still pops up. Any other ideas?

Thank you both for the prompt replies.

Edit the export template. The save path for the CSV or Excel destination file is set there. By default it is the data directory, but you can re-direct it to any location you have access to.
