Hello:
Currently 100% of IC Items are in Account Set = "A" but we want to divide them into Account Sets "B", "C", "D" and "E". We plan to do this at month-end. The costing method will remain "Moving Average" but the Inventory control account will change.

What are the ramifications of this change? What about items already on OE and PO orders? Does posting use the account set assigned at the time of entering the order or does it use the current one?

Thank you.

Orders and Purchase Orders do not do any accounting, only invoicing and receipting. I believe that the control account at the time of day end being run will be used.

It turns out that I can manually change the Control Account for an item but not import the changes. Given that there are more than 2,000 Items, manual entry is too slow. I can use GV-RW as a faster solution. However I've only been able to make changes in GV-RW on a cell-by-cell basis. Is there a faster way to paste a column of cells? Thank you.

Have a column in the View with the values you want to change TO. Click on the first CELL in the column. Shift-click on the last CELL in the column. (Select the cells, not the column.) Choose Edit | Copy. Click on the first Control Account Cell in the View. Ctrl-v paste. Every row should turn blue. Update the records.

Thank you Andrew. That worked perfectly (but you already knew that)!

Finicky but fast! But thanks for confirming I had the steps right. I was typing from memory.
