My banker wants a trailing income statement, by month, for the twelve months ended July 31, 2011. I use as my period code a [7]M for July, [8]M for August, etc. when financial reporter is set at month 12, year 2011.

Can someone tell me how to code months in the prior year?

... or a different setup technique if I am barking up the wrong tree with this approach. Thanks

Hi Tom,

If by 'trailing income statements' you mean displaying the most recent 12 columns, then there are a different set of codes available. In the View / Account Data field listing, these fields are labelled as 'Rolling Period Net Changes' and you can use either 'NET_[x]M' or simply '_[x]M, which represents the period net changes x periods ago.

So if you want the most recent 12 months, then the current column would be 'NET_M' (or simply 'M'), last month would be 'NET_[1]M', two months ago would be 'NET_[2]M', and so on. Period selection is linked to the selected fiscal period and year on the toolbar.
