A client of mine just bought DataCare, and they have 30 separate datasets (they provide accounting services for their clients).

Is there an efficient way to run DC on all 30 datasets each night? It would be very impractical for them to set up 30 jobs, not to mention all of the lanpaks it would consume.

Thanks

Steve

Assuming all the datasets are similar...

Create a DataCare Job in one of the datasets. Make sure that it runs properly. Set it up as a scheduled task (instructions are in the doc or help), and make sure that is running properly. Use a batch file to launch the datacare job, rather than scheduling DCWIN.EXE directly. This allows easy maintenance of the list of jobs to run (you just have to edit the batch file). Once you are happy with the configuration, copy the DC*.dat files to all the other data sets, and edit the batch file to add them to the list. Since the batch file is processed sequentially, the datasets will be checked one after another, and no lanpaks will be required.

OK?
