Would like to perform analysis on Slow Moving Items.
Specifically:
• Display Items where Total Qty Sold in the previous year (Jan 1-Dec 31, 2010) is greater than 0 but fewer than 10

Among the modules that we are using:
• Receivables
• Order Entry
• Inventory Control
• Sales Analysis
• GridView

Question: Not sure how to generate the report

- Sales Analysis can summarize this information, but I am not sure how to restrict the reporting to only Items where Qty summary is between 1 and 9
- I can generate the data in GridView from I/C, and then Summarize on Item #. But again, how do I filter for only Items with a summary amt of between 1-9?

Hi Sam:
GridView can't filter on summary totals (maybe the new version shown at AOC will be able to do that since Andrew showed improved handling of totals). Can your client "Excel Direct" the GV report and filter it in Excel?

Hi Sam

If the period you are querying is one that displays in IC Sales History (YTD, LY, etc) and you are pretty conscientious about running IC period and/or year ends, then you can do this easily using the SmartFinder (F6).

Just filter on LY Qty > 0 AND LY Qty <= 10.

Do you understand?

Steve

Hello Steve:
I follow what you are suggesting, but from what module/screen are you running the SmartFinder?

If I am using the SmartFinder, I probably would then export the results to Excel.

Instead, I think that I would rather create an Online Inquiry in Sales Analysis, Edit & View the results, and then export this to Excel.

The advantage here is that we have more control over the Dates (for example, if the user wants to perform analysis on a specific date range).

Once in Excel, we can perform a filter or a sort on the Qty field to restrict the view to Qty < 10.
