Indeed when all 5 parameters are defined on a PrintTool shortcut (user, password, data path, data extenstion and report path), the sign on screen still appears. It would seem reasonable to have PrintTool do the same as other applications and load directly into the report. I can forward that to the programmers.
PrintTool wasn't originally designed to run completely unattended. This is why you need to click the Print button once the data path and report is determined. There could also be run-time parameters that need to be defined at the time of printing. I can forward this feature request to the programmers.
The Crystal print engine at the 7.0 level does not support printing to PDF. This is why you don't see this as an option in the Print To File options via Crystal. You can print to PDF if you re-direct the print job to a PDF printer driver, rather than a 'paper' printer.
