I have an existing report that I'd like to make a smart sheet. I know that I need to add .smartsheet to cell A1 however I can't access cell A1. My spreadsheet begins with Column C. I've tried to 'unhide' in case A&B were hidden but that doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Lulu

Hi Lulu,

Likely your financial statement was converted from another application, and the conversion process may have set the width of columns A and B to zero, rather than simply hiding. If so, this is likely why you cannot unhide. Just to be sure, click the box at the upper left of the sheet, to the left of the C and above the row 1. This should 'Select all'. Then try the Unhide Columns from the Format menu. If this works, then great!

If not, then try positioning your mouse to the immediate left of the box that has the C in it. The cursor should appear like 2 vertical lines and arrows pointing to the left and right. When you see this, left-click with the mouse and drag to the right. This should reveal column B. Repeat this to reveal column A.

If indeed this form was converted, here is a link to a technical tip on our website for Converting DOS statements into a SmartSheet specification.

Thanks so much. The second approach worked.

One more question. I was using the account groups window in maintin financial reports and chose the option 'float in main window'. I don't want that anymore and don't see how to undo it?

Thanks!

Hi Lulu,

Floating 'View' menus can be dragged back to their original position on the left and locked. Or on the right or the top or bottom.

You can also open the View / Customize screen, go to the Views tab, click on Account Groups in the list, and click the Reset button.
