Our year end is Sept 30th and on Oct 15th, I closed off AR. When I go into statistics, the data for the current year starts at Oct 16th. Did I do something wrong and can I fix it now.

The Year to Date and Last Year statistics in AR are based on when the Year End Processing function is run. If you continued posting batches between Sept 30 and Oct 15, the statistics will reflect those postings.

If you want the cutoff for statistics to be Sept 30, you have to run Year End in AR at the end of the day on Sept 30th.
To fix this for a few customers, you have to know what the right numbers are as of Sept 30, for both the Last Year and This Year YTD amounts. First ensure that you are allowed to edit customers statistics (a setting in the AR company profile) and you can either edit a customer individually or use the Import function to update the statistic fields.

If you have a large volume of customers and statistics that makes this impractical or daunting, or you do not know the correct numbers, then there is a 3rd party add-on called Toolkit for Adagio, where one of the things it can do is recalculate customer statistics.
