I would like to control who can & cannot change a customer "On Hold status". I looked in profile & also in the group setup & did not see anything specific to this. Would it fall under "terms" on the group profile?

2nd easy question when changing a user group setting do you need to log out & back in to see the effect or is it invoked when the group is saved.

Hi Bruce,

If a user has access to editing customers, they can edit any field. There is no security to prevent accessing specific fields for customers but allowing others - with the special exception of customer Notes.

As soon as security group changes are made and saved, they should immediately take effect. A log out and re-log in should not be required. Of course, if a change is made to prevent a user from access to a function and they happen to be using it at the time, they are not kicked out of the function, but it will become unavailable as soon as they close the function.
