When I drill down in to transaction details under the accounts payable vendor transaction tab, the decimal moves two places to the left on the display of the account distribution. For example, the invoice and payment amount (IN & PA) reflects the correct amount of $1,000 on the first screen, but when I drill down the distribution shows $100,000. I'm not experiencing any problems with the actual postings, but would like to fix.

Mike:
I just tested and I don't encounter that here. I'm using AP 8.1C (100810). What version are you using? Does it happen on all vendors? Does it happen in Adagio's sample data?

We're using AP 8.1b. We recently upgraded. Maybe this was a problem with the upgrade. I haven't looked at Adagio sample data yet. I get a message that the sample data is not compatible with this version. I'll need to convert sample data and take a look. Thanks for the input.

Hi Mike,

What version did you previously have, prior to the 8.1B upgrade? I suspect 6.8B or earlier. There was a known conversion issue - that has been fixed in the current AP8.1C service pack - that the GL Disbursement file did not get set with the correct number of decimals when converting from a 6.8B or earlier version, to a newer version. Thus all amounts appear 100x bigger than they should.

I suspect that it is too late to upgrade to the latest version and re-do the AP data conversion. You could get the decimals column repaired, or use GL to view the account distributions (you can see the entire entry via View GL Entry in View Transactions).

If you chose not to install sample data in either the 81B or 81C upgrades, then accessing older sample data will give a conversion message.

We recently upgraded from an earlier version. It appears that this may be the result of the known issue. I'll have to convert the sample data and take a look. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
