When processing adjustments in Inventory, it is recording separate adjustments in two or more items. Example: we record an adjustment cost only in item A, it records in item A but it also records in item B (the same amount) however it is not on the audit report as recording in item B only item A and it does not retreive to the GL - it does throw our inventory off of item B

Does your data pass a Data Integrity Check?

Hi, Nell,

Please confirm the version and release dates of Inventory you are using. Has your Adagio consultant been asked to take a look at this?

Also, if you were to do the same thing using sample data (located in Softrak\ICWIN\Samdata), what happens? Is just the item referenced in the adjustment updated?

No, I tried this first

I tried the sample data and it does not record twice.

This is only happening to one item. The item number is 5-8, when we post to item 12+ it records in both 12+ and 5-8

Okay, thanks for the additional information.

This might be a good time to involve your Adagio consultant. They can look at your data and work with you to try to determine if there is a data issue.

After investigating the data, the problem is with the Transaction History inquiry function and not with posting. Because the item ' 5 8 ' has a leading space, it is being trimmed incorrectly by the history inquiry and thus loading transactions for additional items '12+ ' and '14+ '.

If that item did not have a leading space in the multi-segmented item number, then no problem would occur with the history inquiry process. There is another item ' 10+ ' that also has a leading space and thus could potentially have problems with Transaction History or other functions.

There are problems that will need to be fixed in a future release. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Rest assured that your data is indeed clean and intact.

Were those leading spaces intentional? If not and you would like to fix the item numbers, you might want to investigate the Adagio ToolKit, and use the Item Number Changer utility to change the item code for these 2 items into new codes that don't have leading spaces.
