We need to look up the last time a Customer was invoiced for an Item, in order to view (and apply) the price we charged.

Here is the scenario:
• The database contains thousands of Customers, thousands of Items, many thousands of historical Invoices
• Typically, we may be on the phone with one of our Customers, and they are now ordering products over the phone
• The Customer will order Item # ABC-123, which they ordered about ½ year ago, and we want to quickly look up what we charged them last time
• The challenge: We do not know exactly when the Item was last ordered, or on which Invoice
• The Customers could easily have 50-100 or more Invoices that we would want to scan, and each Invoice may contain many, many line Items
• The key word here is: rapid – we have to find this information quickly! (Remember, the Customer is holding on, on the other end of the phone.)

Ideally, it would be best if we could conduct this search while we are entering the Order in O/E. (We want to quickly look up the price from the last Invoice, quote the price over the phone, & apply the price on the new Order.)

Fortunately, we can make use of many of the Adagio modules to assist us, including:
• A/R
• O/E
• I/C
• Sales Analysis
• GridView

Hi Samuel,

You can use either the Items tab on the OE Order History function, or the Prices button on an item detail while entering an order in OE, to search for the historical customer-item combinations. In either case, you select a date range to scan the OE detail history.

Since your ideal case was while entering an OE order, the process would be to
- Create the order for the customer
- Add a new detail and select the item
- Click the Prices button
- Click the Show History button
- Select the date range (MTD, YTD or other custom range)
- Click the Load History button to do the scan

This will show all found occurences of the customer purchases or credits of that item. The list is sorted by date ascending, so the most recent purchase will be at the bottom of the grid.

Alternatively, a GridView workspace could be pointed at either OE History or Sales Analysis (SA would be better performance) and be able to look up customer/item combinations.
