We did the upgrade last evening to Sales CQ 8.1B, and were disappointed to see the scan issue has not been dealt with. Our Operations Manager had this to say about the upgrade
"The Scan feature, which was the part we had issues with and wanted changed, has not changed at all."
What this is refering to is the fact that the scan feature does not use filtering as an AND, only an OR. In other words to do a scan which includes a particular salesperson AND their overdue contacts, we actually have to do a scan with the salesperson first (a new scan) and then a second scan "within" that data to find the overdue contacts. It would be great to be able to do both criteria in just one scan.

Possible?

Hi, Barb,

The Scan feature works the same in 8.1B as in 8.1A. We did a number of other enhancements and a priority was to make CQ compatible with AR9, which it is now.

I've noted your comments for R&D for a future release.

Hi Barb

It's not true that the scan feature didn't improve. It improved tremendously. You can now import a scan list from an Excel file.

If you can create an Excel file with two columns - the record type (C for customer, P for prospect) and the customer/prospect number, you can import it in.

Now here's the great part. You can use GridView to create such a list, using almost any imaginable criteria. If you don't have GridView, even plain old F6 (smart-finder) can do the trick, although not with as much flexibility.

Steve:

Sorry I fail to see how you can call this a great improvement.

Hi Doug

You can ignore the rudimentary filtering tools available in SalesCQ, create the list instead using (for example) GridView, and then bring the results back into SalesCQ. Since in my opinion the great weakness of the scan feature was its filtering capabilities, I call this a tremendous improvement. But I guess it's subjective.
