In OE while trying to post an order and invoice 2 of our stations got an error message: "Error 4102 occured when attempting to append record to OE order detail". This has happened 3-4 times now. The invoice and order details are not in the body, nor does it print out. On an invoice the $ value is correct at the totals although no details are visible. I do a back up of OE, then data integrity check and fix whatever can be fixed, however the order/invoice needs to be totally re-entere.
Now with that said, today when this error occured we were also uploading data to our website/shopping cart. Could this possibly be the reason for the OE error??? Unfortunately I don't remember what was going on when it occured in the past.
Any thoughts? Thank you, Ilona

Hi Ilona:

Just to clarify, were you only transferring from Adagio to the web-store? Or were you also transferring orders back into Adagio from the web-store?

I saw this identical problem once before. We weren't able to find a cause but I suspected it was related to importing orders (they also have an external link, though a different one from yours').

Are you using OE 8.1C?

Hi Bruce,
How are you? Hope life is treating you well!

Yes using 8.1C. No we weren't transferring orders into Adagio from the web store, just uploading new information to the web store.
I feel this is causing the conflict therefore just have to make sure no one is in Adagio when we upload to the site.
Thanks for your input and have a great long weekend!
Ilona

Hi Ilona,

An error 4102 is an indication of data corruption. Some process is locking the user out from updating the Order Details table. Because the file was never written to, the DIC and Rebuild cannot re-populate what should have been there.

You will need to determine the reason for why posting gave the error, probably with the assistance of your Adagio consultant. It could be that a file was not release correctly from the network, or multi-user access is not defined as it should, or Opportunistic Locking or File Caching is enabled on the workstation, or other possible reasons. You may have determined the reason for this already.
