We normally retrieve our subledger batches with the 'period based on date' option. I know that last year, all retrieved batches had to go to the current year, even if the new fiscal year had been created. I seem to recall that someone told me that I would have the option to retrieve to the next fiscal year with the 9.0B Ledger version. If this is now an option with 9.0B, how do you retrieve to the next fiscal year and the period based on the date?

GL 9.0 will automatically put the entries in the appropriate fiscal year when you retrieve - as long as the "period based on date" option is selected.

Assuming your year end is Dec 31. Entries retrieved into the GL from a subledger will be split out with the Dec (And earlier) entries going into "Batches" and the Jan (and later) entries going into "Next Year Batches".

Adagio Ledger 9.0 was always able to retrieve sub-ledger transactions either to the current year or the next year (if open) as Ryan indicated, when 'Period based on date' is the method for assigning fiscal periods to batch entries. You must open the next fiscal year before you can retrieve sub-ledgers to the next year batch system.

What changed in Ledger 90B was that if 'Specific period' was the retrieval method, you can now choose either the current or next fiscal year.

Ok, I knew there was a new feature. One of our smaller companies uses the 'specific period' retrieval method.
