Hi All,

We have a problem with our order action reports. Sometimes they don't show up in the list, and the next day they will be there.

One person tried to create a new one, and got the following error:

"Error 4102 occured when attempting to write record to O/E Order Action Template Header"

Why would this be happening?

Thanks!

Hi,

One known reason for this error is that Opportunistic Locking is set in Windows. This is bad for multi-user programs such as accounting. The likely result is data corruption - check your data integrity to make sure it is OK - you may find there are errors in the data.

Also run the CHKSYS.EXE utility in the \softrak\system directory from each workstation to ensure that Opportunistic Locking is not enabled - this utility will find this and disable OpLocks if you choose to accept it. (In many of our newer modules, you can select System Check from the Help menu.)

If you do find that OpLocks is enabled on one or more machines, can you post here what version of Windows is on the workstation?

There could be other reasons for this error, but the above is a known reason. Basicly, the program wanted to write information to the Order Action template header and was denied access for some reason.

Hi All,

I've checked ops locking on all computers (it's actually just one computer, we all run adagio from a central server). Ops locking is not enabled, and everything else with the chksys utility was fine.

It's happening all the time now. Sometimes I'll go to pull up an order action report I made yesterday, and it's simply not there. Everyone else is experiencing the same problem.

We also did an integrity check and a rebuild, and although it found a few minor errors and fixed them, nothing was related to order action reports... and the problem continues.

Please help!

Thanks,

cam

This happened to us before too. I think we renamed one of the Templates (OE allows you to type the new name directly and save it) however it corrupts all the templates. We had to restore specific files (our Adagio Dealer told us which ones) and re-create our Order Action reports. Since then we NEVER rename the templates and instead use Save As and Delete.

Thanks Susan!

Can anyone tell me what files to restore? I suspect I want to restore said files with empty ones, no?

Thanks,

cam

First make a full backup of your data before making any changes such as this. Also ensure nobody is in the data when you access data files like this outside of the programs.

The Order Entry 'Order action' data files are a set of 4 files that all start with the letters 'OEACTL'. Move them to a different directory, or change the file extension to something different, rather than deleting the files.
