Is there a way to create folders in the Views menu that appears in each module (i.e. OE/Inquiry/Views)? We have way too many (all useful from time to time) and would like to categorize them into folders.

Hi, Susan,

To create subfolders under the Views folder, the subfolder must be named the same as a security Group (eg. OE security group ADMIN would have a subfolder set up as Softrak\OEWIN\Views\ADMIN).

When a user belonging to the ADMIN group logs into OE, they will receive the prompt asking if they want their Views updated and will say Yes. Within their Inquiries | Views menu, they will now see all workspaces stored in Softrak\OEWIN\Views as well as those stored in Softrak\OEWIN\Views\ADMIN.

However, a user belonging to a different OE security group (say, DENTRY) will see only those workspaces stored in the Softrak\OEWIN\Views folder. If there are other workspaces that this group of OE users should also see, they would either need to be added to the general folder (eg. Views) or to a subfolder called DENTRY. Only the users belonging to group DENTRY would see these workspaces.

This provides a way of setting up more security within the Inquires | Views environment and of organizing workspaces more efficiently.

Oh, and currently there is no way to have 'sub-folder organization' within the Views menu inside Adagio - they will always appear as a single list, even if you do use the security methods above.

If you desire to organize your inquiries into particular groupings, you could accomplish this by creating a folder on your desktop that has a shortcut to each of your GridView views (the workspace path can be defined on the shortcut Target with a /w parameter, followed by the complete path to the GVS workspace file). Within that folder could be multiple other 'category' folders in which you would place the shrtcuts.
