What's the procedure to restore GL only from a complete dataset backup?

You're asking about restoring from an Adagio backup and not some other program?

If so and, if all you want to restore are the GL files, open the BK*.zip file that contains the backup, highlight only the GL files and extract them to the folder of your choosing.

NOTE: It's always best to move the 'old' GL files out to another location, perhaps a holding folder until you're sure all is okay, 'prior' to restoring the GL files from the backup zip.

Besure to check that the copy of the Ledger you are restoring are not missing batches from the sub ledger that you have retrieved. You will not be able to re-retrieve the sub ledger batches to the Ledger again. By either moving the old Ledger data to a new folder or renaming the ledger data, you can always check it the restored ledger to theold ledger. Also if you do rename or copy the data, be sure to go in to the data, change the company name to "Old Data" and change the screen colour. You do not want to be posting in the old copy by mistake!
