Good Morning,

We're currently running Ledger 9.0A. Our year end has just been completed and the year closed, and the new year is open. I attempted to delete some inactive accounts that have no balances or activity this year, and no activity in at least the 2 prior years, but am getting the error message "accounts with current or historical values cannot be deleted". We have deleted accounts in the past, but in an older version of Adagio. Is deleting accounts no longer an option?

Hi, Dawn,

Ledger 9 is able to maintain multiple years of GL data; whereas earlier versions were not. This is why you are unable to delete the account. Even though there was not activity for the last 2 years, there are 'historical values' for a prior year.

These historical values facilitate financial statement reporting for prior years.

If you want you can access Edit | Accounts, make the accounts Inactive. Then, you can use the Column Editor on grids, selecting not to show inactive accounts.
