We are using Report Groups in A/R. In order to properly maintain our data, we have turned on "verify report groups" for each and every user. However, when a new customer is set up, this is not a required field. So a person setting up a new account is allowed to "skip" this field.
Is there a toggle to enable somewhere which will make Report Groups a "required" field?

No, but AR 9.0A will have a default for this field when a new customer is added.

Is there any way it can be made a required field? Having it as a default will not help us in this instance. In fact, setting up a default could make it worse!

A required field would make people doing the data entry think. A default just lets them think they are okay...

Sorry, the feature list for AR 9.0A has been decided, and a data entry template for adding a new customer is not on that list.

It's pretty easy to have a SmartFinder list that selects all customers with a blank report group for editing, or even a GridView View that is automatically updated when customers are added that highlights customers with "incorrect" groups.

While you are looking for report group as a required field, others would want the same for territory, or salesperson or credit limit or... See how these things snowball!?
