Hi, Kate,
There isn't a spec code in OE that would specifically show the out of stock items as zero shipped.
Backordered items can print on specs along w/the 'actual' number shipped.
If you're using 'Default shipped as ordered', the person doing the picking could mark the item as how much is not shipped and the order could then be edited and changed to reflect that 'x' items were on backorder.
Or, if they are using OE8.1B, and if 'Allow inventory levels to be below zero' is turned "on" in IC, you might use the new option 'Warn if IC Qty below zero' in OE. This new option only
When this 'Warn if IC Qty below zero' option is turned on in OrderEntry, if you try to Ship an item that has a negative inventory quantity, you will receive a Warning that 'There is insufficient stock at location xxx'. You will not be prevented from shipping the item. The user is being warned of the condition and must respond to the warning in order to continue. They aren't prevented from invoicing the order.
