In Volume 6 Issue 4 of The Score there was a little blurb near the end regarding how to set up shortcuts on the desktop for different company databases in the case of having more than one company. At the end it said to see the Fundamentals documentation for more details. Well, I can't find any more details, so could you please help me figure out how to do this?

Hi Jean,

This can be found in the Adagio Fundamentals manual on page 1-28, within the section 'Command line parameters'.

With the shortcut you use to start an Adagio program, right-click and choose Properties. In the Target field (after the program path and program name, eg F:\softrak\apwin\apwin.exe) you can include shortcut parameters to pre-load information in to the sign-on screen.

Specifically for the data path and extension, use the /d parameter to specify a data path and /e for the data extension. So if your data was found in the F:\softrak\data directory with an extension of DAT, you would add this text at the end of the target:

/dF:\softrak\data /eDAT

Note that there are no spaces between the parameter and the value.

Final note...

If you specify the userid id (/u) and password (/p) the program won't stop at the signon screen at all. (The session date will be set to "today".)
