I'm trying to recreate a shipping label specification from Softline's OE Labels product in Adagio Order Entry. I'm able to add most specification codes, but I don't seem to be able to add a lot of the codes under the 'Items' section. For instance, in the OE Labels specification, we use the following ACCPAC Plus fields: L29 (seems to be item#) and L3 (seems to be Item Description). I was told some customers require this information to be included in the shipping label.
I tried to insert spec codes D1, D55, D & D3 into the Adagio Shipping Label specification - but nothing prints when I do that. Why is that?

Cheers,

Andre

Hi Andre,

Adagio's shipping labels are designed for putting names and addresses on a shipping container. I don't beieve any of the item details can be printed on the label.

Have you considered formatting a picking slip or order confirmation document to print the required information?

I was afraid you would say that.;-)
I just thought it MAY be possible since I was able to select those fields from the spec code list. I figured that since I was able to select those codes from the list, they should print. Otherwise, why show them in the list?

I'll play with altering a picking slip or order confirmation. Good idea. Thanks!

Andre

By the way, I WAS able to print fields like qty shipped, item price and several others on the shipping label - just not the item number and description...

Hi Andre,

They show in the list becuase the designer is used for all the forms in OrderEntry, and it doesn't "know" exactly which type of form you are designing.

Sorry.

OK. Makes sense. I wonder, though: How does it 'know' that it's OK to print fields like D66 (Qty on hand (Item)) or D15 (Quantity shipped or returned)? It does print those on the label.

Hmmm - sounds like an "undocumented feature"!
