Innstalled SA (latest version) @ a client on Friday. They have been using OE since December 1st, and have been performing daily day-ends. The SA Retrieve function indicated "no data available for retrieval", so I performed a scan to retrieve current and historical data from OE.

When I attempt to print the Sales report in OE that report only generates a report total witb no details. It does not matter what options I chose (Detail/Summary, Customer/Salespers etc).

Is this what typically happens when data is retrieve into SA from OE???

As you found in your other post, the answer is that the Invoice.Credit Note audit list reports have to be printed and purged in order to send the information to SalesAnalysis for retrieval. Just doing Day End isn't enough.

The Sales Report in OE doesn't have anything to do with the SalesAnalysis program. There is an option in the OE Company Profile to 'analyze sales data', and if this is selected then Day End will write to this file. There needs to be a data file OESALES.dat with a size greater than 0 bytes for the report to print anything.

Yes, I'm familiar with the option setting. It was turned on as soon as OE was installed. The OESALES.DAT file is 735KB.

The OE data backed up prior to the SA scan on OE shows data details in that report. However, after SA scan was performed (clients current dataset), the data details are not seen. The report prints, just the header, a few lines, and a totals line which reports a figure...

Create an on-line inquiry (rather than using a report) to display some records that you "know" must be in the database. Adagio SalesAnalysis uses on-line inquiries (which can be printed) for most of its reporting power.

Andrew,

As I review the above, allow me to clarify a point made in the 1st thread of the post....

**Sales Analysis is reporting as it should**

The Problem appears in OE. After the SA scan was performed I'm no longer able to print the OE Sales report and see the OE sales detail (or summary). Nothing. The report prints a blank page with a summary total for "Sales Amt", "Cost Amt", and "Margin".

Hello,

In the data directory, does the file OESALES.dat have any data in it? If not, then someone has answered "Yes" to the purge question that appears after the Sales Report has been printed.

In the OrderEntry company profile, is the option to "Save sales data" turned on? If not, then no data will be written to this file.

Can you print the report in the Adagio sample data? If not, then the problem is likely to be a corrupt RPT file and you should be able to remedy it by uninstalling, and then re-installing Adagio OrderEntry.

The SalesAnalysis scan has nothing to do with the file OESALES.dat (which drives this report). SalesAnalysis scans the active and historical order/invoice headers and details.

Andrew,

The profile option to Save Sales data is activated

The OESALES.dat files is 729kb. I've viewed the contents with Notepad and I can see the Sales details there....

I've got a copy of the several clients data and I can print/view the Sales details there as well as the sample data.

"I didn't think a scan in SA would wipe out the details, but the sequence is as follows. I visited the client who has been using OE for the past 2/3months, installed SA. After creating SA data, SA indicated there were no data to be retrieve (as was pointed out, probably b/c they have not been regularly purging Invoice/CNote Audit list. OE history did have some info. I performed a SCAN of Currnet and historical info, and info was written to the SA database. I went back to print the OE sales report to match sales details for month of September and realized the details were no longer available....

Hi there,

The report settings have been damaged somehow. In the company profile, turn off the option to "Remember report settings". Print the OE Sales report. Go back into the company profile and turn the setting back on.

Everything should be fine.
