Hello,

Just installed all the new versions and have run into an interesting(!?) problem. If the display settings for the screen are set to small fonts, advices, both preview and printer, are off the page. Setting the fonts to large corrects this problem but distorts the screen displays for everything else. I note on a previous post from Andrew(05/09/07) that Adagio does not support "Large Fonts", which is fine because we don't really want to use them, but do need to be able to print correctly. Thoughts or ideas, anybody ?

Thx,

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Printing specifications in Adagio is sensitive to the DPI display setting in Windows. In XP, right-click on the desktop, pick Properties. This can be found from the Advanced button on the 5th screen. The DPI setting needs to be set to Normal.

The cheque (check) specification takes on whichever Windows DPI (Display font) setting active the last time it was displayed. The following examples will cause the issue you discribe;

1. Created with Windows display setting to Normal fonts but then cheques are printed/previewed from a workstation using large fonts.
2. Created with Windows display setting to Large fonts but then cheques are printed/previewed from a workstation using large fonts.
3. Opening and saving a specification on any workstation using something other than normal font size.

Best course of action;
1. Get the specification fixed using a workstation set to Normal font size.
2. Make sure all workstations are set to use normal font size.

Thank you for your responses. No joy, however. Please note the following:
1) Production System is Win 98SE environment, BUT same problem on a Win XP Pro test system.
2) These cheque specifications have been used successfully (for years!) until I installed 8.1 last week, so don't understand what has changed.
3) The ONLY way to properly display and read the Adagio screens(for example - Print/Post function cuts off cheque date using large fonts) is using "normal"(XP) or "small"(Win98) fonts; however, the ONLY way the cheques/advices will properly print(stay on the page) is to use "large" fonts.

I would like both the display and printing to work without having to switch back and forth. Is there a fix other than rewriting all of my specifications?

Thank you.

This is a mystery.

The specification has been forwarded to R&D for investigation.
