I just updated a client who was on Order Entry 8.0A with Service Pack 060825. Now when they try and sell an item, no Unit Price comes up (ie. Unit Price = 0.00).

I discovered that OE now requires that a Standard Cost be entered for each item in IC in order for it to calculate a Unit Price. If no Standard Cost is entered, then Unit Price is 0.00.

This client has been using Adagio for some time (and Accpac Plus before that) and has always left Standard Cost at zero and had the program calculate a Unit Price by marking up Recent Cost. It use to be that if a Standard Cost is entered for an item, then that is marked up to determine the Unit Price, but if the Standard Cost is zero then the Recent Cost is used for the mark up.

For this client, having to maintain the Standard Cost is a step they do not need or want.

Is is possible to have the functionality back where the item unit price can be calculated by a Mark Up on Recent Cost (if Standard Cost is not used)?

When we addressed an issue involving Markup Pricing in this recent service pack, it appears we lost the specific scenario you mentioned above. We'll see what we can do.

In the meantime, it would be a simple step to export all the items and Most Recent Cost, then import the same file but use the Standard Cost field instead, thus setting the Standard Cost to be the same as Most Recent Cost for all items.

Any update on the addition of the functionality to mark up on recent cost? Import/Export is beginning to be a pain.

The functionality changed in a recent OrderEntry Service Pack when we fixed an obscure problem where the Base Price was not selected as the lowest price when it was less than the price based on the customer type (A-E). This will be addressed in the next release of OrderEntry although we not have a date. The next release of OrderEntry will use the Standard Cost unless Standard = $0.00 then it will use the Most Recent Cost.

We are EAGERLY awaiting some update on this. This feature impacted us greatly as almost all of our clients use this pricing format. New installs are also affected. How soon will a fix be available.

This issue will be fixed in the OE 8.1A release, the very next release to ship for OE. This is our Windows Vista compatible release. The estimated time for shipping is in the next 1 to 2 months.
