For unknown reason all of a sudden, I can not use the default printer to print anything to screen, preview, file or printer in GL.

No problem to print in other modules. Any idea?

Hi Fong,

Please run the CHKSYS.EXE utility from the \softrak\system directory (where Adagio programs are installed) and it will report if there are any table problems.

Can you print preview the company profile report? This is the 'simplest' report printing test, and if you are not able to do this then there are problems that may need to be rectified by re-installing Adagio Ledger.

- What happens when you try to print preview a report? Do you get an error message? A 'screen flash'? Other results? Not knowing what the incorrect behaviour means we can only guess at potential problems.

- Can other workstations print preview any Ledger reports? This can help narrow down if the program installation is faulty or the problem is particular to a single workstation.

Because other applications can have their reports printed successfully, the workstation likely has appropriate rights and pathing, etc. My initial guess is that the report tables for Adagio Ledger are missing or dated incorrectly from where they are supposed to be, and all other report tables are OK.

No, I can not preview, print or save to file the company profile report.
When I try to print there is a screen flash(less than a second) message saying printing report. But nothing happened.

Only one workstation affected. Mine.

I ran chksys.exe. Please take a look. I report to you the errors only.

Try running a workstation setup for Adagio Ledger on your machine. If only your machine has the problem, then workstation setup is the process for installing required files to your local workstation. When doign this, make sure that you are logged into the workstation as you (not ADMIN) and have appropriate rights to install files and update the Windows registry.

The problem may be something not related to an Adagio component on your workstation. I see that Opportunistic Locking was found, which usually results in problems. When you ran CHKSYS and this was found, it looks like you chose to fix this (which is good). Does CHKSYS show this as being taken care off?

Try that for now.

We haven't heard back. Did you try redoing the w/s install? And, did you rerun ChkSys? Did it show opportunistic locking as being okay now?

I am waiting for our consultant to fix it since last Novemeber. Don't know when it will be fixed.

We talked with the consultant and believe to have found the problem. The printing issue in Adagio Ledger (and Adagio SalesAnalysis) is restricted to printing to a virtual printer driver - other printers have no problem printing these reports.

The difference between Ledger and SalesAnalysis to other Adagio applications is that the report names in the StandardRP directory have more than 8 characters for GL and SA. Reports with 8 or fewer characters can be printed to this particular driver. So it seems this driver doesn't support long file names...
