A clinet has run into a problem I have not seen before:

- When she prints the GL transactions in AR, only the transactions for March 30 and 31 are included. The rest of the month is missing.

- The batch cannot have been retrieved into the GL as the GL is not installed on that computer (or even in that building!).

- Th3e routine (batch file) that copies the GL batch to a disikette to take to the GL automaticly creates a series of 5 aged copies of teh batch, and that has not happended.

At present, she is going through the posting journals and adding up the figures, but -- of course -- would like to know what caused the problem and if there is any actions she can take to avoid a repeat.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

If Ledger is not installed at a site, then the Print/Consolidate GL transactions report allows the user to purge the printed transactions.

Could someone have answered "Yes" to the question "would you like to purge the transactions...."?

Good thought -- although this client is pretty careful and computer-savvy. I will be seeing her later today.

An idea: what GL file does Receivables look for to determine that GL is installed (GLGLOB.xxx)? Perhaps I could put a copy of that file in the data folder and that would prevent the accidental clearing of the GL batch in the future.

You should copy GLGLOB.xxx and GLDATA*.xxx so that the Finder fields will work.
