I am working in Adagio Ledger's Financial Reporter and using the Excel Direct function. Currently, Excel Direct exports all rows, including the hidden rows. Is it possible to export only the visible rows?

Sorry, no - but it's a reasonable suggestion.

Of course, if we were to implement export of the formulas (which is another reasonable suggestion), then we would have to export the hidden rows in case some formula relied on their contents.

Currently, Excel Direct exports all rows (except rows marked as hidden by the user) in a financial statement, including the underlying summary rows that the Financial Reporter uses to manage the Expanded and Collapsed states of the spreadsheet. This means that users can't change the total at the bottom of a column to a formula summing the values above it as it would automatically include the hidden totals, as well as all of the hidden blank rows.

It would be nice to have the option to just export the visible rows with formulas where they also exist in the FR.

Yes - we know, and are investigating various improvements to ExcelDirect, which is used in both the Finacial Reporter, GridView and the Adagio modules themselves.
