The following was asked in a private Email:

Since it is recommended that Adagio be installed on a server, I was checking the website for compatibility info but couldn't find much about Server operating systems. We currently have 2 dedicated servers, Novell 5.1 and Windows 2000. Is Adagio compatible with either, any preference between platforms?

Which of the following would you recommend?

Novell 5.1 - Pentium 4, 2.8 Ghz, 1GB RAM, runs Print Servers and File storage for Office documents etc. and ACCPAC Plus.
or
Windows 2000 Server - Pentium 4, 3.2 Ghz, 2GB RAM, currently runs 2 databases - one written in Visual FoxPro and one SQLBase.

The downside of Windows 2000 for us could be a problem continuing to use ACCPAC Plus, which we were going to phase out eventually anyway.

I have installed Adagio modules on both Novell and Windows server, and found little to choose between them. The Novell client can be a little finicky; some seem to work better than others.

The decision might boil down to where the current ACCPAC Plus installation resides since you will want to run them together for a while.
