Adagio GL 8.0B 040518 is running on my computer which acts as a server. We have two additional computers acting as workstations. All 3 computers are using Windows 2000. This setup has been working for many months with no problems. Today, when the workstation attempted to open the GL, the message "Unable to write to K:\SOFTRAK\System\MENU.INI" came up and the GL would not open. This only happens on the one workstation, the other one is fine. Also, A/P and A/R modules run properly from all workstations. I did a reinstall on the workstation and that seemed to work, but only for a couple of hours. Now a reinstall doesn't work at all. I reinstalled Adagio GL on the server but that didn't help. When I go to the MENU.INI file mentioned above, I can't find it. Any suggestions?

Your problem sounds like a rights issue. Make sure the workstation user has full administrative rights to the softrak directory on the K: drive. I would also refer you to Ralph Allan's posting on setting up a peer to peer network

The gl is working again. The problem in this case appears to have been AVG antivirus software on the computer. When the "heuristic" checker was disabled, the problem went away.
