If you convert f/s spec from Plus, can it be edited?
I have edited the ranges to include all possible account numbers, but when I add a new account and post to it, it does not print on the f/s.
Do I have to recreate from scratch?
Thanks

Hi Jane,

The Account Group ranges and financial statements are not 'linked' in the Adagio Financial Reporter. If you make changes to the account groups, they will not affected previously created reports. Also, if you convert specifications from Plus they are essentially 'static', though you certainly can edit them by adding new rows or columns and copy/paste formulas for new accounts or fields.

However I think you'll find it easier to recreate the specs using the drag and drop from the Account Group tree. This is true especially since you can add SmartSheet functionality to your form, such as automatically generating rows for newly added accounts.

If you haven't attended a webinar before, this would be an opportunity to see more of what you can do with the Financial Reporter apart from only converting DOS specs.

Hi Jane:

Just to expand on this a bit.

If your DOS specification contains a "^^" line, then this is changed into a static set of rows when the specification is converted. You would be better advised to change the individual row into one row with a ".Range" command, and then make the financial statement a .SmartSheet by right mouse clicking on cell A1 and selecting "Make SmartSheet".

If you create a financial statement from scratch by dragging and dropping off the account group tree, you will see that this is what the financial reporter does.

For examples of how this works, open the Ledger Sample Data and load the various template specifications we provide.
