Softrak's suggestion:
This has been suggested before, of course.
There IS a solution!
1. Copy the existing date field and Paste it twice directly beside the original (so they sit side by side).
2. Click on the 1st (farthest to left) field to select it.
3. Right click on it and select properties.
4. Select the 'yyyy' under Date format and click OK.
5. Go to the next field, properties, and select the 'm' Date format, click OK.
6. Go to the last field, properties, and select the 'd' Date format & click OK.
7. Now, you will have to insert two text labels, for the "/" forward slash character in between the year/month and the month/day.
8. Now, you'll just have to adjust the size of the fields and push them closer together.
Note that the day will only print 1 digit until it reaches a day that actually has 2 digits. (eg it will print 1-9 as is, not as 01, 02, 03 etc.).
Hope this helps others!
