Upgraded from Quik Reports 6.1D to 6.5. As well upgraded to Quik Invoice 6.5. Tried running report on QI and have linking problem. The item table in QI is not linked to the history table in QI. This was possible in QR 6.1D and QI. Has something changed in the table defs for QR/QI 6.5.

With Quik Reports upgrades, order of installation is important. Make sure that Quik Invoice was the last program installed, after Quik Reports. Otherwise, you will have problems with linking.

Also, make sure you do a cross table conversion of your QI reports, since QI was upgraded. See Chapter 11 of the QR manual or the QR release notes for detailed info on how to do this. Please note that if you had a much older version of Quik Invoice, you will have to convert up the reports in 'steps', from the old version to the next newest and so on.

I have re installed again to insure the proper process was followed. The same result. However when looking at the table links from older versions to now, I have noticed they have changed. What I was able to do is link the ITEM CODE from history detail to the ITEM CODE in the item table. From using the utility QRCARD I notice that STYLE CODE is used and not ITEM CODE. This does not work for us. In the report the only fields are GL account/dep, Style code, and Tax code. If this cannot be fixed the upgrade is no good to us and we will have to resort to going back to the older version. (why the change?)

I checked it out, and you are correct that the table isn't set up to accomodate the link between the QI Hist details and the QI item maintenance.

However, there should not be a need to make this link as all of the vital information in the item maintenance table (item code, item desc. and style code) is all kept in the QI Hist details table already. For example, if you are inserting the item name from the item maintenance table, delete it and reinsert it from the QI Hist table.
