Hello friends,
I am trying to install service packs to a client's system. She is on Adagio 9.3 and i'm just installing the latest product update. Her Adagio is on a server and there is only one workstation. It gets to 68% and is hanging.

I was told that this can be either permissions or virus scanners interfering w/ the install. I have tried logging in as domain administrator and had their IT online w/ me and he even tried temporarily disabling the virus scanner. To no avail.

I have not even tried installing the other service packs.

Fortunately, the program wills till run and reports can print but they would like to be able to install the service packs that they have paid for.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Carol

Hi Carol:

Try running the SP using the /NOWEBCHECK parameter while running it from a command line. They may have a group policy that doesn't allow to check the internet. It might be stalling in the part that downloads the system future requirements or the last versions.

If that doesn't work, the antivirus might need to be uninstalled completely. What antivirus is this?

Hi Carol:

I was running Workstation installations at a client last week (admittedly different from a service pack). On all computers, it would stop at the same percentage and go no further. There was no message and the installer wasn't really frozen (i.e. I could click on Cancel - though it didn't actually cancel). The solution, after much gnashing of teeth, was to temporarily stop the anti-virus software. I realize from your question that you've already tried that, but the symptoms sound very similar.

I use Norton Antivirus and I always have to disable the Data Protector under the Antivirus Settings during the install. Otherwise, NAV will block the install's web access.
