I received this question from a client:

Are we able to update the picking sequence as we enter the ‘edit physical inventory’? We are doing mass transfers of stock into new picking locations and stock taking at the same time.

The answer is no - updating the picking sequence must be done using the Edit | Item Maintenance | Picking Sequence function.

Since Adagio should try to match how businesses actually work, and it is a standard business practice to maintain picking sequences and counts at the same time, it makes logical sense that a user should be able to do both in the same function.

What makes it even worse is that there is no way to import mass changes to picking sequences by location - it must be done one-by-one.

Please improve Adagio Inventory by allowing the editing of the picking sequence during physical inventory entry, and as part of physical inventory import.

Although my request still stands, I have come up with a solution that works for this client because they own GridView ReadWrite.

They can use GridView to create a Physical Inventory Worksheet in Excel for a location - it's a pretty basic 7 column file. They will record not only the counts into this worksheet, but also changes to the picking sequences. Then they can import the counts into Adagio using File | Import | Physical Inventory Worksheet, and they can update the picking sequences in Adagio by copying/pasting the updated picking sequences from the Excel file into GridView ReadWrite.
