Hello All,

A pain point of ours is any update on any module (in our latest case GV) these always seem to cripple our Gridviews. For example we have one view that has 7 Columns and 2 Filters. Of those 7 columns 6 changed to the following:

Original -> After Update
Name -> Billing Address
Terms code -> Salesperson
Comment 1 -> Credit Approval Person
Order # -> CN#
Ship Via -> Comment 1
Optional Text 2 -> Optional Date 1

I don't understand why this happens so often, I then spend hours fixing gridviews that where working perfectly fine.

Any help on a fast way of fixing this would be greatly appreciated. Another issue is we have no idea what or how many views where effected by this, I have seen 4 so far.

Thanks,

It looks like this was the OE service pack.

Hi Lance,

Did you Upgrade from OrderEntry 9.2A to 9.3A or from 9.3A (181214) to (190117)? Upgrades to modules are the only this that will affect field mapping.

The fix to this depends on your upgrade path. Both Release Notes warned about potential changes to GridView Views.

Thanks Andrew, this was the case. We restored a backup to fix most of the gridviews. Some had been edited since that date so those had to be fixed manually.

A client who was using Invoices 9.3A (181120) and GridView 9.3B (181201) is having the same issue with their GridViews breaking as described above.

I updated them to the latest Invoices hotfix and GridView service pack, and it didn't fix the problem.

I also tried restoring to an earlier version of the GridView report, and it also didn't fix the problem.

The symptom is that for reports using the QI Detail w Header table, the Customer Name changes to Status, the Ship-to State changes to Ship-to City and the Date field changes to Invoice #2. There are probably others but these are the only ones I found on the report. Note that they are all Header fields; the Detail fields seemed to be OK, thankfully.

I was able to manually fix the two affected reports for this client. But I'm worried if this is the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Current GridView is 9.3B (190118) which should not have exhibited the issue. Since you have fixed the Workspaces, they will break again when the Service Pack is installed and you'll have to change the fields back.

I don’t think they will break again because I installed the service pack before fixing them
