Unlike OrderEntry (which SalesCQ is supposed to mirror where practicable), if you turn on the Increment quote numbers option, you can't override the generated quote number at all.

What my client really wants is the ability to have two separate quote number series, and I know this is not possible, so I would like to suggest that they add a prefix to the generated quote number as a workaround.

Or am I missing something?

In PurchaseOrders, there is an option for a default prefix, based on the security group, but OrderEntry doesn't have this.

An idea - if I import a quote from a CSV file and the file includes the quote number, will it use that quote number even if the Increment option is enabled?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Currently in SalesCQ, when you click the OK button on a new quote, it is immediately saved. You request is (an option) to display a screen to allow overriding the quote number from the specified next quote number and format, before saving the quote. Or allow editing the Quote/Revision Number on the Header tab to what you want to override, leaving it as NEW if you want to use the next quote number?

There is a 'Quote Number Format' in the SalesCQ Company Profile that allows entering either a prefix or suffix or both on the quote number, but it wouldn't be practical to keep changing this whenever a different prefix is desired.

If you import quotes from an external file, and H-Quote Number is in the template, this quote number will be used regardless of the next quote number or format.

Are you also requesting the ability to include a document prefix to the OE numbering, in a way similar to either PurchaseOrders or Adagio Invoices?

Hi Support

Yes to the first paragraph. That is my request.

Yes to the last paragraph, regarding document prefixes. I like standardization across modules where it makes sense, and it does here.
